This is Good for Crypto – 64% of Americans Want Crypto Education in the Classroom-min

The blockchain and crypto sector in the United States has grown significantly over the past year. As the adoption grows, the demand for education related to the sector has also grown. A survey by Bankless Times showed that 64% of parents based in the US were interested in introducing crypto education in schools.

64% of Americans want crypto education introduced in school

The analysis revealed that 64% of Americans wanted crypto to be taught in schools. It also showed that 40% of parents believed their children needed to be taught about blockchain and the uses of blockchain technology.

On the other hand, 35% of parents wanted their children to learn more about the metaverse and the virtual world. The metaverse is one of the key areas of the blockchain sector that has attracted global attention since Facebook rebranded into Meta in late 2021.

The CEO of Bankless Times, Jonathan Merry, commented on this development, saying that it was a positive thing that parents realized the benefits of crypto education amid the rapid growth of the industry.

Merry said,

With the increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies, it is important for people to understand how they work. And what better place to learn about this new technology than in school.

One of the reasons Americans demand crypto education is that blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are still new concepts that remain unknown to many people.

Like most new technologies, it takes time for people to learn and understand how everything works. By bringing crypto education to school, it was now possible for people to have an easier way to understand and use this technology.

Crypto jobs are on the rise

On the other hand, the web 3.0 & crypto sector has become quite lucrative for job seekers. As the sector’s popularity grows, so does the demand for jobs in the sector. Postings for jobs related to blockchain have increased by more than 1000 each month in the United Kingdom.

Therefore, this could be why many US parents are proactive and want their children to be ahead of the learning curve and adopt skills that will make them competitive in the job market.

Blockchain technology is fairly new, despite cryptocurrencies having existed for over a decade. The current education system is not designed to tap into the skills needed to support jobs revolving around new technologies.

Blockchain technology is already gaining adoption outside the crypto space. Central banks worldwide are racing to launch central bank digital currencies (CBDC) powered by blockchain. As businesses continue adopting this technology, the demand for blockchain developers and engineers will rise.

If students can learn new subjects related to the sector in school, they could be prepared for future jobs, one of which could be in blockchain technology. The technology could also assist students in understanding how this technology could transform the world.
